About Debra Savage

Wouldn’t it be awesome to have a financial security net & smart way to save money?

Yes, you don’t need to answer. I already know it. Fortunately for you, I expertise in cementing your financial security & helping you generate smart ways to save money in the process. I help the working man/woman to get their finances organized so they can then see how they can find extra money in their lives to put aside for either savings, investing or spending. To sum it up, I help you smile at the end of the day!

Debra Savage is a down to earth Garrett County native and loves the hometown charm the area provides. She has fond memories of her childhood in Deep Creek Lake and its four seasons. Perhaps this is where her love of walking in fresh glistening snow started, and why she chooses to call this area home.
Growing up in a small town in the Appalachian mountains certainly didn’t give me the access to the financial world of Wall Street or for that matter, any investment vehicles. It was a simple life where everyone went to work (not many attended college or could afford to attend) received their paycheck, paid their bills and never hoped for much more for their life.
There were, of course, some who had money, but my family was not one of them. Now don’t get me wrong, we had food, shelter, clothing and a new car every other year. Life was solid, but here were not extras to be had. No fancy cars, eating out for dinner, or designer clothing. You had food, clothing, shelter and I was to be satisfied and grateful.
But something inside me was always churning and wanting more, I wanted to see the big world outside of my little town and community. I knew there were things to see and places to go. I was the first member of my family to ever fly in an airplane. I chose to go off to England, Scotland & Wales by myself and was told I was in danger and crazy, by family members. I went anyway!
That trip changed my life. The exposure of having the money to travel, to choose your lifestyle was the ultimate in freedom. I wanted more!!! I decided to start my own business and that was fun, exciting and a great financial move. But owning your own business, where you are tied to the business everyday or working a job that ties you down 40 or more hours a week takes away freedom of movement.
I wanted more than the typical 40 hour work week where you received a few sick days and the typical 2 week vacation time off each year. This was not my idea of living. I have had a very successful and lucrative career in Real Estate Sales, but either spent the money on my self or others or loaned money to friends and didn’t have much to show for all my success.

I’ve lived in the big 5000 sq. foot lakefront house, drove the BMW, have the 2 carat diamond, but this never seemed to be a lifestyle that fed my soul. I needed to be outside, in nature, and free.

This was when I got serious about accumulating money and spending wisely so that I could have all the things I really wanted and also have Freedom of Movement in my life. I changed all my spending habits, started a more serious investment plan and looked at my emotional triggers and ego surrounding my spending. That was quite the eye opener for my life.

As I said, I don’t have a luxury home, a luxury vehicle or designer clothing. They are not my gig. What I do have is FREEDOM of movement and the ability to purchase all the things I need or want.

Total freedom of movement and spending on my terms

Now, don’t get me wrong, I live in a “Tiny-Home” and drive a Honda CRV. Nothing really elaborate by any means. The difference is that I love my home, perfect for me, and love the fuel efficiency and sensibility of my Honda. Millions of dollars would not change those two items in my life. I wasn’t looking for expensive or luxury items, I wanted FREEDOM.
I was looking for freedom! I wanted to be, do and move all times as I wished. I wanted Financial Freedom that provided me, at all moments of the days, weeks, and years the ability to travel, dine out, have entertainment and items at the exact moment I wanted any of these.
